Alex, Robert, Me and Andrew at the Baltic Sea
I had to convince the boys that we should rent bikes while we were in Copenhagen. To be fair, Robert did not need any convincing. I suggested the idea to him and then together we convinced Andrew then the thee of us must have strong-armed Alex into the idea of two-wheeled transport throughout the city.
Back then, Alex was more interested in sampling pretty girls and local wines than physical activity.
I miss Alex and Andrew. They are in a group of maybe, 15 people, who met all three of our oldest kids when their ages could be measured in hours. Three times I was pleasantly surprised with the tenderness and joy Alex expressed as he held my newborn babies.
Every morning we walked to the market for a loaf of fresh bread that we would eat with a hunk of cheese and some liverwurst or jam for breakfast.
We rode our bikes all over the city. We locked them up at a train station while we took a ferry to visit Sweden. I remember Andrew got a kick out of ordering Swedish Meatballs and then saying "I mean, meatballs. Here, they are all swedish, right?"
One night we rode our bikes to a public park for a free Opera. The city's Opera Company was kicking off their season with a concert for the public. The last number was a sing-a-long and I am a sucker for a sing-a-long.
That was ten years ago.
Music inspires me. Travel inspires me.
I would have loved to participate in the making of this promotional video for the Copenhagen Phil.
It inspired me. Also, I am Danish. I love Denmark and I love Danes.
